Taka moved from Japan to California over four years ago to be able to ride as much as possible with the other Temecula riders. He trains with Jeremy "Twitch" Stenberg and the Dirt Bike Kids Crew and despite a busy schedule - living the dream and competing in FMX events across the US. Higashino began riding when he was seven and shortly afterward set his sights on turning professional. When he turned 18 he moved from Japan to the U.S. to compete in freestyle motocross. His first X Games appearance was in 2007 but it wasn’t until a few years later that Taka’s career would take off.

The Temecula resident worked harder than ever to add some top results to his stats. A well-deserved gold medal at X-Games for his FMX run and a silver for Best Trick showed that the Temecula resident was on top of his game at the time.

In 2010 he would go on to win the Dew Tour in Salt Lake City Utah, Red Bull XRAY and also earn a bronze medal in XGames Best trick.

Throughout his career, Taka has captivated audiences with his insane style on a dirt bike. Always pushing the envelope and managing to put the most next level tricks all together into one cohesive run..

Montra MX is excited for Taka to be a part of the team.
